Abstract: Indian Society thrives on contradictions. The field of labour is a bundle of contradictions. Even since Mark Holmstrom, an Australian Sociologist of labour introduced a dichotomy between organized labour and unorganized labour it has become a persistence source of great deal of discussion, debate and discourse among Sociologists, labour economists, social anthropologists and labour activists. The fommer has been dubbed as "labour aristocracy" who has used labour unions to gain wide range of benefits and privileges even at the cost of their less fortunate counterpart the unorganized labour.
